Wow. I'm finding it really hard to blog these days. I've tried and tried but it is really difficult to type while holding a fussy 14 month old. While she is not still officially sick, she is one incredibly grumpy person. I think we've been slammed from both sides--a virus and a new tooth.
It seems I've had a buddy with me at all times during the day. With Alex working lots of hours lately, it's me and a lot of girl time.
This happened yesterday.
Me: "I'm going to the potty, Eloise."
Eloise: "Okay, we will come watch."
And then she grabs Cordelia's hand and brings her to the bathroom to watch. PLEASE, LITTLE PEOPLE. That is not what I intended.
From there I started getting some major whining for lunch. "I'm hungry Mom!"
"I know sweetie, I'm hurrying to get some lunch ready."
I start throwing food around, cutting, smearing, stacking, and in record time the food is on the table.
"What can I eat?" I think.
"Oh, sweet, leftover pizza."
I sit down and Cordelia goes wild. Of course she wants my pizza. But it wasn't my pizza she wanted, it was me. Me. Me and only me. At least all this hugging is keeping me warm on these frigid days.
So that's been my story for the last couple of days. Not a lot of hand free time. Not even at 5:30 this morning. My hands are full.

I only hope you see half the humor we find in reading your blog!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I thought my son was the ONLY fussy baby in the world! :) However, it's nice to be needed too. Hope she feels better soon.
I wish I could come give you a hand today! I'm watching one of my nieces this morning (she's napping right now) so I'm getting a teeny tiny glimpse of a portion of your day. It really is bizarre to have my 2-year-old niece follow me into the bathroom...
Oh man, you made me laugh :) I can just imagine the bathroom scene. When I'm nannying, I usually just bring both the girls into the bathroom with me so I can be sure they aren't getting into trouble without me. It can be a bit awkward at times, and is usually pretty funny. Fortunately, they can't talk yet and REALLY make me feel embarrassed. haha
I adore you, Emily :) You may not have much time with your hands free, but however you do it, you're doing it well and are simply amazing! xoxo
