Sunday through Wednesday

Sundays through Wednesdays are always crammed packed and hectic for me.  I kick into get through the day mentality and always need my back cracked at the end of the night.

Then Thursdays come and there's nothing planned.  Nothing obligatory for me and the girls and it's a breath of fresh air.  This is when my inner introvert reveals herself to me.  After 4 days of face time with friends and teachers and people around town, I need a break.  A day of some quiet alone time (alone meaning me and the girls).  It doesn't mean I don't plan outings and play dates and do chores, it just means I don't have to if I don't want to.  And that feels incredibly nice.

I'm super excited about photographing some of you and your little ones this Spring and Summer.  All you local people, I'm serious.  I need guinea pigs.  I need you and your friends.

Alex is watching C-Span 3 and I find it incredibly boring.  Snoozer.  How many C-Spans are there?  He also just went out for a quick trip to Safeway for some Haagen-Dazs (that is a correct spelling) vanilla ice cream.  Oh, that's Heaven.  Oh, how I love my man.  And Oh, how I wish we didn't have such expensive taste.

I keep trying to get Cordelia to wear headbands but she won't.  They are super cute, though.

Eloise loves her sister but Cordelia doesn't like to be squeezed quite so tight.  And neither would I, really.  After being squeezed for a few days, it's nice to be let go.  And breathe.

Sisters

For a moment this morning, our girls were matching.  It was so lovely and nice and perfectly coordinating that I insisted on getting a photo outside.

Sisters holding hands.  Eloise helping Cordelia on the icy grass.  So precious.

Then, Eloise changed her clothes.

Perfection is fleeting, isn't it?

I love my girls

I don't have much to say in this post.  I think all I have to say is that I love my girlies.

And these photos melt my heart and tickle my soul.

And I'm officially very cold sitting in my own house right now and that makes me want to go to bed immediately.

Good Morning Sister

Good Morning!

Never mind.

Good Morning!

Never mind.

Good Morning!

That's better!

In other news, I've been asked 2 questions.  It's almost Christmas, so get out your pen and paper and write these down.
1.  What camera do you use?  A Nikon D90.  I edit on Photo Shop Elements 8.  Love them both!
2.  Where did you get your boots?  Piperlime.  You can use Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy gift certificates there.  Collect them, save them, buy boots.  They are Melissa Frye.  Fabulous!

Sister Sister

(Don't forget to enter my contest!  There's no good reason not to.  So click here to do so.)

I know the chief reason most of you read my blog.  It's to see these little guys.  And I've deprived you of them for too long.

So for those who want me to stop typing and just post photos of Eloise and Cordelia, this is for you.

:-)

Eloise how tall are you?
This is what I got.
Eloise's mug shot.
It tickled me.

This and That

Our neighbors think we are bizarre for a variety of reasons.  One is for our love for tie dye and mismatched clothes.  Eloise gets lots of looks and comments on her wardrobe.  And it doesn't bother me a bit.  Getting dressed and out the door is challenging enough for me.

And, have you heard the David Crowder Band's newest album?  The song, Oh Happiness?!  Oh my!  I love this song.  My love for David Crowder's music began in the summer of 2001.  I was a youth intern at my church in Dallas.  It was the best youth program ever.  HPPC.  Killer boss Mac McCoy and killer interns and killer programming.  And it was a blast!

We took a week long trip to Padre Island on the Texas coast and met up with hundreds, probably thousands of other Presbyterians around the state for a youth conference.  And every night the best praise band from Waco, TX lead us....the David Crowder Band.  I've been hooked ever since.

Check them out.

And, finally, why I love Jesus so much:

9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

When I'm weak (tired, sad, lonely, frustrated, bored), Jesus walks with (or carries) me. And that's a great relief.

Sister Sister

It's so fun that Eloise is conversing more and more with us.  We never know what she'll say next.

Me:  What your bunny's name, Eloise?
Eloise:  Carrie.
Me:  Great name.  How did you pick Carrie?
Eloise:  Because bunnies like carrots, Mom.

Eloise:  Cordelia, when you get big, I'm going to teach you to dance.

Me:  (in response to a cartoon.)  What do you collect, Eloise?
Eloise:  Princess cookies.

Eloise:  (looking at a book)  This is Jesus.  He's alive!

Cordelia is doing her fair share of growing too.  She's rolling all over the place.  Eating some rice cereal. Grabbing everything.  Laughing at Eloise.  Taking her pacifier in and out of her mouth.   (Isn't that every mom's dream--for their baby to put the paci in by themselves.  It's so bad, but it's so true.)
